A room for our family and friends

The Éliane room is part of the story of La Grange, our guest house in Salers. When we first opened, it was one of the rooms welcoming visitors who came to stay in the Cantal. Since then, La Grange has evolved, work has been carried out in the house, and we have chosen to give this room a new purpose. Éliane has become the room where we welcome our family and friends. Some live nearby, while others travel across France or occasionally come from the other side of the world.

As French regulations limit a bed-and-breakfast to five guest rooms, La Grange now offers the following rooms for booking: Emma, Joséphine, Delphine, Louise and Angèle. Éliane is now a private room which is not commercially available and cannot be booked.

A reading room open to all our guests

When it is not being used by our family or friends, Éliane becomes a quiet reading and relaxation room open to everyone staying at La Grange.

Guests are welcome to settle in with a book, browse a local guide, plan a walk around Salers or simply enjoy a peaceful moment after a day exploring the Cantal mountains.

A room preserved for what it represents

We have chosen to keep Éliane on our website because it reflects the early days of La Grange and the way the house has evolved. It also reminds us that our home is about more than the five guest rooms available for booking.

La Grange remains a lived-in family home, shaped by hospitality and sharing, where guests, friends and family can meet. Éliane represents the balance we want to preserve: putting people, warmth and the life of the house before purely commercial considerations.
